The Chicken Coop

So I built the chicken coop. Twice - I will come back to that later.
First of all, there will be no pictures because it looks horrid.
I will definitely not be applying for construction jobs. Ha.
Secondly, the first time I built it, I used nails to frame it...right as I am tacking on the last part of the frame...it ALL falls apart. Not even kidding. It totally just frekking falls apart. LOL.

Sigh.

So I walked away...threw the hammer...screamed to the construction gods...

and bought some darn screws like I should have done in the first place.

I then proceeded to screw everything (*giggle*snort*) I meant the wood (*hysterics, I am in hysterics*) so now there are at least seven screws in every corner or adjoining pieces of wood.

That coop is sturdy and ridiculous and I hate it.

If I were a chicken, I would shit on it. Hmph.

Anyone know a carpenter?

The dog just sat there staring out the window and wagging her tail. Huh.

Friday.

So over the past month I have been steadily moving three hours south to the grand land of L.A. Woot.
Friday was the day the animals were moved...
Three hours in the car with the cat.
I repeat - THREE hours in the car with THE CAT.
Transcript as follows:
"Meow."
"Meow...MEeeOW."
"MEeeewwweoooowewewwwwwwwwww!!!!!"
"It's okay buddy-"
"MEEeeeeEooooOOOOWWWWWWW!!"
(He starts panting and lays down on his back with his head in my lap, just staring at me...panting.)
"Well, how about if I turn on the air conditioner?"
(He stops panting.)
I don't know how he is still alive. I really don't.

Ski picnic table

This is for those of us who never want to leave the slopes.

For the record, if I saw Tom or Bill Kaulitz while skiing - I would definitely hit a tree.
Not that I think they are even into skiing - I wouldn't know, I've never met them.
Just sayin' those boys are some serious eye candy.
Not to mention they are talented musicians.
And they are humanitarians.
Fashion icons.
Hilarious.
I'm stopping now.
Really.

Branch art | Recyclart

Branch art | Recyclart

This is my solution for what I call the elephant wall in my new house. It is cheap, artsy and absolutely stunning. Oh yea, and it's natural. :D

I win.

I think I will do mine with dead Manzanita branches...if and when I get around to doing this, I will post a picture. In the meantime, thank you to maplesugarlyrics and yahoogreen on twitter for this idea!

Wow. Talk about a cool new use for recycled/broken furniture. I can think of dozens of times that I have stumbled across beautiful yet broken and seemingly unusable furniture. This picture makes me regret not stopping to get all of it. I couldn't really pull this off in my house anyways - nonetheless, I give mad props to this artist.

I want this.

I have wanted Botero's Fat Mona Lisa painting forever.
You know this picture makes you laugh. Someday, I will have a house full of Botero's work.
The Man is a genius.
To be honest none of his work goes with my decor or my style, but I still want it.
P.S. HAPPY TUESDAY!

Sneaky...

This happens all the time - so I don't know why it still surprises or humors me.

I will be sitting on the couch or at my computer or on my bed. In this scenario I was laying on my back in bed, and I was reading a book. Suddenly, I feel my cat jump up on the bed.
I continue reading.
Two minutes later I feel him move two feet up the bed. He curls into a ball and continues to knead the comforter with his talons.
I continue reading.
Two minutes later he puts a paw on my leg. He starts purring.
I continue reading.
Then, I notice he is snuggled into my armpit. With his head on my shoulder. Kneading the blanket near my arm...and purring.
I continue reading.

That is when this happens:
So much for reading.

Cool Eco friendly car announcement

Above is the computer generated image of the Chevrolet Volt when it was only a Concept Car...

and below is the final product that will now be put into production. The car boasts a range of 300 miles and a whopping 230 miles per gallon fuel efficiency. That is wayyyyyyyyyy more than the Toyota Prius.

Click here to read about the very cool announcement from Chevrolet.

What do you think??

Uh, I'm brave?

I just purchased the plans to build this chicken coop for my lady birds. Have I ever built a chicken coop -NOPE- but one time in wood shop in high school (7 years ago...) I built a flower box and a cedar chest! So I am totally prepared to take on this project...right?

*Gulp*
I prefer to think of myself as adventurous. Uh, daring?
...STUPID!

I want a smart car...or a batsmart...or a smartass...

Meet the "smartass." I want one!!!!

By far my favorite is "Batsmart." The chick really chose the perfect outfit. I am pretty sure more guys were there to see her little leather clad ass than the stupid pint sized car with wings, but whatever.

Mom, meet Petey - my new lover.

You can read all about Petey here. He was featured in the 2008 SEMA Conference.

I don't know how...

but I have somehow FAILED to mention throughout this ENTIRE blog that I LIVE FOR SUSHI. I LOVE SUSHI. If I was rich and famous, I would do nothing but eat sushi. I am serious. I even know how to make it myself.

Come here you delicious, mouth-watering morsel!!

I normally don't...

do the "fashion thing" but some things needed to be addressed.

First of all...

BOOBIES **squirms and giggles**

Secondly, I like this outfit. I totally have the perfect curves to rock this, and I plan on doing so as soon as I can find one that doesn't cost the price of my first born child.

Now for the darker things. I have been walking along the edge of the darker side of art for about a year now. One week I wear black and eyeliner then I am back to yellow and paisley the next. Don't ask me...I have no idea what my deal is. Nonetheless I like these things:

This shit's fucked up, naturally, I like it.

This reminds me of the beautiful headless dancer photo in my doctor's office...only slightly darker.

And now for the ones that have no meaning, I just enjoy them...

I loved the photo shoot of Evanescence with the dark red riding hood themes...this reminds me of that. If I ever released a single, I would want this...too bad it has already been done :(

And now for the real Evanescence photo's:

I am going to...

run down the street wearing these boots...

screaming this song...

Welcome to my world.

You need to go to icanhazcheeseburger.com like RIGHT NOW.

By the way...

Cowboy Cookies in San Luis Obispo, CA have the best cookies on the planet. I HIGHLY recommend the sugar cookies. SOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!!

For the GREAT BAMBINO...

I am going to start a dog walking business. Why not? How fun would that be???!!!! I think I will do 3 walks a week for one hour and charge on a monthly basis. I think I will ask for $50/month. It is pretty cheap in comparison to what others charge...but if I can get 20 dogs a month I am great. Then I could work part time doing what I have always, always, ALWAYS wanted to do: work in a bakery and frost cakes!! Yay!!!!

Let us hope this fabulous plan works. :D

Can't sleep

Well, as usual I can't sleep. I swear I was born to stay awake at night and sleep all day. Anyways...it has been forever since I have been online. My life has been...well...turned upside down recently. Things are well, and I am happy...just not normal. Normal is highly over rated. Here is what is happening in my life:
1. Tomorrow I go back to work (been taking care of family while Dad is sick)
2. Moving to Southern California on the weekends...oh and looking for a job
3. Job rejection sucks...and is highly prevalent in my life. Lovely.
4. Graduating college and trying to find a job during a recession is terrible, can't I just be rich and famous already???
5. Maybe when I am homeless and jobless I can just play my guitar on the street for pennies. Probably would be happier anyways.

Miss you all and hope to have good news soon for you. In the mean time please enjoy this:

Oh yea, and I did it again. Only this time, it is only a cover, not a song I wrote.
