Milan, Italy 2010 Part II

So at this point of our trip we were officially stuck in Europe. It was find a boat or swim home. The Icelandic Volcano had erupted and the ash has closed all flights from Europe. While everyone else was able to drive a car or take the train home, we weren't going anywhere. So, we started going to every museum, church, park and tourist destination we could in Milan. We couldn't go to far because our flights were based out of Milan and it was a daily update type of thing...so we were trapped.

So basically we went everywhere we could and took as many ridiculous photos as possible.

Apparently, the romans thought they had teeny tiny penises. Every statue has a tiny penis. TINY. Or maybe they were humble?

While we were there, I fell in love with the Fiat 500. I want one. In red. Thanks.



Of course we went to the fashion district. And it makes perfect sense that they have lamp shades hanging above the streets with advertisements on them. In fact, I might do this in my hallway. While I am at it, I am going to open a Mui Mui shop out of my spare bedroom. But seriously, I love Mui Mui's window displays. I want it all. Mine. All mine.


And then we went to the Museum of Natural Science. Which had the most immaculate and beautiful collection of rock specimens I have yet seen. I nerded out and took about 200 photos of them...and spent about two hours oogling at them. The museum was really well put together, had amazing displays and was very educational. HOWEVER. The taxidermy of all of those animals...I don't know about this. I REALLY hope they were all somehow humanely done...I think they are incredibly educational for the school children, and there was a time in my life when I owned taxidermy animals and thought it was cool. But now, I have to say, it freaks me out. Who wants stuffed dead animals in their house? WIERD. Also, I really hope these animals weren't killed only for this. That being said, I told myself they were humanely done and we had a lot of fun with the photos we took. After all, this was an educational exhibit. So we got edumakated. Yea.





The museum was amazing. I highly recommend you see it if you are in Milan. The fossils, the rock collection, the animal exhibits are just phenomenal. It truly is a collection of the worlds animals all in one place. Plus, if you are as cool as I am you can nerd out over rocks for TWO HOURS! Yay! Party!
