Taken Hold

Fall leaves rustle at my feet,
While winter coats the world in white,
You’re long gone with the chances I wanted,
But I still hold on tight.

My stubborn intuition is confused this time,
As regret reminds me of the chances I wasted,
And maybe all along you never woulda cared,
Nothing would have come if they’d a’ been taken.

Do you believe in second chances, do you believe in fate?
If given the chance, would you ask me on a date?

The heart never quits
What coulda been gives me fits
I hold on to a crush
that I can’t let go
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold

My confidence falters whenever you’re near
I guess rejection is the base of my fear
That shaky, nervous way my knees shake,
The dub step pickup of my heart rate

Do you believe in second chances, do you believe in fate?
If given the chance, would you ask me on a date?

The heart never quits
What coulda been gives me fits
I hold on to a crush
That I can’t let go
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold

The heart never quits
What coulda been gives me fits
I hold on to a crush
that I can’t let go
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold
It’s a foolish dream
but its taken hold
