Suggie

Bittersweet memories, these are what I hold onto
When my grief is choking me,
I remember secrets shared, laughter exchanged,
The way you smiled about everything,
Daily naps at two, even if you were in class,
Six feet of courage and strength,
Fearless in her cream dress and stilettos,
Now she charges into heaven to continue her work,
Because I know that even though you look asleep,
You aren’t the kind to sit back and rest.

RIP Suggie
